Apiary History
Beekeeping began as a hobby for Kevin Ryan's father Blake when he bought a quarter section in the Cremona / Water Valley area in 1969. At 10 years old, along with love of the outdoors, Kevin developed an interest in beekeeping. Years later, Kevin and his wife Pat moved to the country permanently and gradually grew their apiary business while raising a family of three boys.
Kevin Ryan is the owner/operator of Ryan's Honey and has been a member of the Alberta Beekeeper’s Association since the early 80’s. The Ryans are small producers of high quality, unique tasting liquid honey, which greatly exceeds the color and clarity of most honey classified as Canada No 1 White. To maintain the Ryan's Honey brand name, we only process and market honey from our own colonies. Our farm is located ~ 8 miles west of Cremona, Alberta on the Big Prairie road.
